Work with Clients You Really Like
In some ways, this is the most obvious one. In some ways, this is also the hardest one when you are a junior lawyer. But it is super important to keep in mind. As you progress in your career, you'll have decisions of how to spend your time, and we advise to always choose quality of client over quality of the potential payoff or engagement. Even as a junior person, you may have a choice in senior people with which to work. Pro tip: Make a killer first impression as a first-year attorney so you'll be given preference when seeking out and choosing senior partners (and their clients) with whom you'd like to work.
