Assuming Each State Has the Same Laws

Just because the law of Michigan says X, doesn't mean that Oregon is the same. And just because Delaware says Y is legal, don't assume California agrees. And just because federal law says Z, please, dear lord, do not assume that Canada should be similar. You think this is obvious? Then why do so many junior lawyers screw this up? Also, don't be myopic just because you took the bar in one state. Learn the advantages of the laws in other states, as well as courts and local rules as you come across them. Think how the differences might help your clients.
