The European Convention on Human Rights

The status of the European Convention on Human Rights within the British constitution is discussed in Chapter 5. All that need be said here is that no issues concerning the legislative supremacy of Parliament arise from the way in which the Human Rights Act 1998 makes the Convention relevant to the English legal system.
