Do the Robots Come in Peace?

Based on the above example, you can see that the good news is that solutions based on artificial intelligence, sometimes called “robots,” prove to be invaluable business partners when it comes to legal counsel support.

They allow the legal department to sort through an extraordinary amount of data without disrupting day-to-day operations or deliverables. When a business event occurs and the general counsel wants to know the impact, in-house counsel would historically have to “stop the presses,” and turn 100 % of their attention to finding and sifting through thousands of contracts and identify those impacted. This process disrupts contract negotiation and day-to-day legal operations. It also prevents the organization from achieving its strategic objective. However, with the robot, you simply tell/teach it what you’re looking for, and it responds with the information you need in order to analyze the issue using your legal judgment and ultimately deliver a reasoned, efficient, and effective result.
